I think we take our existence for granted.
I mean, let’s think about this for a second, what proof do we actually have? Perhaps we’re kidding ourselves, or perhaps there’s a huge amount of trust involved, but I guess we don’t have much choice, do we?
If we did come to the conclusion that what we see, experience, and feel each day isn’t real, then what could we actually do about it? What would you do? Would you cast aside your newfound belief or would you dare to uncover the truth, even if it meant your entire world as you knew it would come crashing down?

Evelyn is at a crossroads. Which road will she take? I don't think she even knows it... because you know what? I don't even know it, and I made her. I find myself asking "Where do I want her to go?" But I guess the better question is "Where would Evelyn choose to go?"
Indeed, where would Evelyn choose to go?
Very Philosophical of you, Michaela.
ReplyDeleteI for one, definitely take my existence for granted. I always think back to Christopher West's talk when he says, remove one person in your ancestry and BAM you don't exist. Is it simply by chance we're in this life, or something more... I believe something more, and I know you do too...
In terms of Evelyn, the thing to ask is, does she really have a choice? Or because of who she is and because of her personality, values, beliefs and experiences, do we (i.e you :P) know what's going to choose before she makes that choice.
Just a thought.
Love your work, and love the gorgeous woman that you are,
Kat.
Sigh... I know account for two of your followers. It's because I love it twice as much :P
ReplyDeleteHaha. Thanks Kat :D I like that "BAM and you don't exist".... If we think about people in our ancestry line that perhaps almost died but didn't, or the family frowned upon a marriage... it all leads to you and I...
ReplyDeleteTalk about messing with your head!
I think when it comes to Evelyn, one thing that I need to keep reminding myself, is that when people are in hard times in life, firstly their true character is revealed, and secondly, they don't tend to act as they normally do. It makes Evelyn a very unpredictable character to write- but all the more fun!
